Kemtile has successfully modernised a wet wipe factory through the installation of a new durable and hard wearing solution.
Over a period of four weeks, Kemtile worked with one of the UK’s largest suppliers of healthcare and industrial fabric to fit a highly-durable resin floor for the company’s 70,000 sq ft manufacturing and warehouse facility.
More than 3,000 tonnes of fabric pass through the warehouse every year – with the facility handling a more diverse range of products across multiple markets.
The company was seeking a superior, modern flooring solution that would cater for such a busy environment – leading Kemtile to install Stonhard’s Stonclad GS: A high-performance epoxy resin screed system together with a fabric reinforced crack bridging system.
With production machines being moved around to utilise the production space, the Stonclad floors were installed in several phases: Initially fitting the Stonclad GS heavy duty base screed and a “sacrificial” sealer before the machines were installed. The Stonclad floor was completed with the application of Stonkote HT4: A specially formulated, high-performance epoxy-based top coat – resulting in a pristine floor.
George Morton, who supervised the project, said: “We often find ourselves working for multi-site businesses where a flooring solution in one place will definitely work in another and comes recommended.
“We always bring our expertise and high standards of work to every job and worked with the team on the ground to ensure we minimise disruption to this fast-moving operation and provided a floor fit for purpose.”
