Types of flooring systems designed and installed by Kemtile
Kemtile’s specialisms include the installation of Kagetec vibration ceramic tiled floors, incorporating ARGELITH fully vitrified porcelain floor tiles, and Ucrete heavy duty polyurethane resin floors from BASF. Kemtile is proud to be the world’s longest established licensed Ucrete installer, as well as being the exclusive UK applicator for Kagetec Tiling Systems for over 20 years.
Expert advice on ceramic tiles and seamless floors
Kemtile is one of the few companies can install both high-performance ceramic tiles and high-performance seamless polyurethane floors. Hence, it is well placed to advise customers on the right flooring to meet their needs. This often means combining the two systems, tiles and resin, to meet specific performance and cost requirements.
Stainless steel drainage systems
Both flooring finishes can be complemented by the installation of stainless steel drainage from Wiedemann-Technik, a leading supplier to the food industry for over 50 years. Kemtile is the sole UK agent for these top-quality drainage systems, which are often imitated but never matched.

Key considerations for a ready meals processing plant floor
Flooring must be hygienic
The floor of a ready meals processing plant must be easy to clean and therefore impervious. Plain concrete floors cannot be classified as hygienic and can create dust that enters the atmosphere.
Floors must provide adequate slip-resistance
In the meal preparation evironment, liquids, oils and other ingredients are frequently spilt on the floor, so the floor must also be slip resistant.
Floors must be chemically resistant
As some ingredients and cleaning chemicals used in meal preparation plants can attack concrete, all hygienic floor surfaces must provide this important level of protection to avoid potentially costly remedial works.
Floors must be thermal shock resistant
The floors in ready-meal preparation plants can be subject to extremes of heat and need to be chosen to be thermal shock resistant. They must also be extremely durable and impact resistant.
The floor needs proper drainage
Correct drainage plays a major part of any hygienic floor installation and should be carefully considered at start of the specification and design process. Drainage systems for ready-meal plants should be made of stainless steel for maximum hygiene and cleanability.
