Section 1: 5 Minute Q&A…

  • What is your role at Kemtile?

I’m an Account Manager at Kemtile. As part of my role, I manage and develop my customer portfolio, focusing on strengthening relationships, tracking leads, and driving continued business growth through effective account management.

My Key Responsibilities:

  • Upholding excellent service levels for our customers, with continuous improvements as needed,
  • Develop and implement a key account management strategy, ensuring regular communication and in-person meetings with key stakeholders,
  • Deliver bespoke advice for clients, helping them choose the right products or services for their projects,
  • Manage customer complaints professionally and promptly to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Can you share a bit about your background and experience in the flooring industry?

I have been working in construction and the industrial flooring industry for around 40 years. I started my career off working as a trainee site operative when I was 17 years old. Over the years, I’ve evolved in my career and grown my expertise across various areas including on-site installation of flooring, tiling, screed systems, drainage, site management, contract management, sales, CDM management, and project management, culminating in my current role in account management.

  • Can you highlight a favourite project or accomplishment you've been involved in while working at Kemtile?

Having been with Kemtile for about 6 years, I’ve had the opportunity to work on numerous projects, each offering unique challenges and learning experiences. I've been fortunate to learn from some of the most experienced professionals in the industry.

While I don’t have a personal favourite project as each one is different and has unique challenges and requirements, the sense of accomplishment when a project is successfully completed is always rewarding for me. Looking back and saying “Yes we have truly built something remarkable here” is the favourite element of my job.

  • What is the best career advice you have ever received?

“If in doubt, ask”. There is never a silly question.

  • What is your favourite thing about working at Kemtile?

Teamwork - Our management team and on-site staff bring unparalleled experience and expertise. If I don’t have the answer to a customer’s question, I’m confident someone at Kemtile will.

  • How would you describe the culture within the Kemtile team?

Kemtile has a great teamwork culture and senior management always encourages you to develop your personal skills and continue your career growth.

  • Who are your key role models/inspirations?

I’ve always looked for the very best in people I’ve met and worked with over my long career and taken those findings and tried to use that knowledge for my own career and lifestyle.

But…… Two of the bravest people I have ever known and always been there for me and helped me are my “Mum and Dad”.
